Happy New Years… Now back to it.

Guys and Gals, I would like to open with a hearty Happy New Years to you and yours, and may the next one be even sweeter and more intense than the last. There have been MANY trials and tribulations in the past one, but with the new year comes the chance to hit the reset button, wipe the slate clean, and just do it differently this time around.

Just a little local update: the guys and I got together and played a show on the top deck of a friggin house boat, with our backdrop being an actual operating natural gas plant with both flare stacks kicking off, giving out a really cool looking pyro affect that you couldn’t PAY for. We had a couple of guys get up front and try their hand at a little vocalizing, but in the end we (the band) decided to just do it ourselves, with myself and the other drummer rotating out on vocals. Thank whatever higher powers above that the crowd apparently had had enough libations to actually tolerate my screeching howl but the feedback so far has been pretty good, with our usual disclaimer of “glorified practice” going out prior to any activities. Oh wait… we actually video taped the whole friggin thing as well, so when the really crunchy embarrassing bits get processed into digestible pieces they will be posted here for all to use as the requisite blackmail material.

Other than that it is business as usual in your favorite part of Africa. I do hope for a blindingly bright future for you all…. So time to get to it!

Cheers.

UPDATE

As promised, here is the incriminating evidence.

About Old Iron
I'm just a guy that works overseas alot and likes to play just as hard as I work. Been to a FEW countries, know a shitload of people all over, and generally have a good time wherever I go. -Oh, and I am currently in between girlfriends, and strangely enough and perfectly happy with that status. In the long run hookers are cheaper. Take my word on that.

Thanks Buck, and cheers to you! I’ll be posting the pics from the show that we had later for all to peruse, to include the ones where I apparently had the audacity to sing “House of the Rising Sun” in front of a crowd of my peers. The things one does after a healthy dose of grappa…

I would put the videos up there but they are a TAD too big. Our bassist Rod (the bald dude with the goatee) loading them up to youtube, and if you guys want to check out some of our earlier stuff we are listed under “Huey and the 491ers”, with our lead front man.

Thanks for the compliments and support guys 🙂
