Guys and gals, meet the new Nigerian expat band…
Huey Nunn and the 419’ers!
From right to left:
Ernie – Drummer extraordinaire and Old School Hustla!!!
Old Iron – The drummer that drinks the same beer that is labeled on his shirt because “it helps avoid complex thought, like actually having to form a decision”
Huey – The only singer that can sport a shirt that looks like he is about to go hunting and make it look GOOD
Randy – The man makes that fat guy from Blues Traveler that plays harmonica sweat twinkies from intimidation
Rod – Former drummer that, after realizing that we already had two, picked up bass and has not turned back yet
That Other Guy – Well, I know he plays guitar…
We had a show last night.. alright, we had “glorified outdoor practice night” last night, and for a group of dudes that have only practiced one time prior to the night in question we sounded pretty good actually. Pretty much all of the set consisted of blues (thus the harmonica), and the crowd was small, but everyone had a hell of a good time. I mean not like we are going to take West Africa by storm with our heady mix of Huey’s croonings coupled with the chunky tunes from the associated musicians, but it is a hell of a lot better than staring at a wall at the pub after work.
Alright then. Carry on.
