I know I complain…

Folks, I am going to be the first one to say that I am quite vocal about how I feel about this little armpit of Africa.

The food is something that was rejected from the local dog food factory (as in what they use to feed NIGERIAN dogs) and the housing that we are in leaks like an 95 year old man without his diapers.

-We have riots, civil unrest, shootings (only occasionally on THAT one, thank God) and a populous that believes that we work them too hard if they have to put in any thing over eight hours on site, let alone actually getting shit done.

BUT…

The little boy that grew up playing with tonka trucks in the sand box still says “WOW!!!” occasionally.

I mean, it IS pretty neat.

About Old Iron
I'm just a guy that works overseas alot and likes to play just as hard as I work. Been to a FEW countries, know a shitload of people all over, and generally have a good time wherever I go. -Oh, and I am currently in between girlfriends, and strangely enough and perfectly happy with that status. In the long run hookers are cheaper. Take my word on that.

Sorry for how dark these pics are, I took them with the trusty old iPhone and not a real camera. That and the sun was pretty damned bright.

    -Still kinda cool though.

Silver linings, and all that. Be safe out there, Old Iron.

Ya gotta wonder about a place that overall, is pretty poor, yet the workers resist opportunities to work their way to more wealth.
